Results appear as you type.

See this on every LinkedIn job, without searching

The free Fitrole Chrome extension checks each UK job on LinkedIn against this register for you, reads what the posting says about sponsorship, and lets you hide the jobs that can't sponsor you. It also scores each job against your CV and flags other deal-breakers, like years of experience or a language you don't speak.

How to check if a UK company sponsors visas

Employers in the UK need a sponsor licence from the Home Office to hire most people from abroad. The Home Office publishes every licensed employer in the register of licensed sponsors, a spreadsheet of more than 100,000 organisations. This page searches that register for you: type the employer's name, and look for the Skilled Worker route on its entry.

Company names on job sites often differ from the registered name: "Lloyds Banking Group" is registered as "Lloyds Bank plc", and a "Ltd", "UK" or "Group" may be added or left out. Try the shortest form of the name if you don't find it at first.

A company can also sponsor through a licence held by another company in its group. One licence can cover a parent company and its UK subsidiaries or branches, so the brand on the job ad may not be on the register under its own name. If you can't find an employer, search for its parent company or its legal name (often at the bottom of its website or on Companies House).

What the results mean

Skilled Worker

The employer can sponsor the Skilled Worker visa, the main work visa for jobs that meet its skill and salary rules, including health and care jobs.

A rating

A sponsor in good standing.

B rating

The Home Office has downgraded the licence, and the employer is working through an action plan. While it is B-rated it generally can't sponsor new workers.

Other routes

Global Business Mobility routes are for staff moving within a company; Creative Worker, Charity Worker, Religious Worker and Scale-up are separate routes with their own rules.

Questions

If a company is on the register, will it sponsor me?

Not necessarily. A licence means the employer can sponsor. Whether a particular job is open to sponsorship is up to the employer, and the job has to meet the visa's rules. Check the job posting, or ask the recruiter before you apply.

The employer isn't on the register. Can it still sponsor me?

Possibly. It may sponsor through its parent company's or a group company's licence, or be registered under a different legal name: search for those too, and ask the recruiter. If no company in its group is licensed, it can only hire you if you don't need sponsorship (for example with settled status, a Graduate visa or a family visa). An employer can apply for a licence, but that takes time, and most won't do it for one hire.

How up to date is this?

The register is downloaded from gov.uk at most once a day; the date under the search box says which copy you are searching. The official register on gov.uk is the final word.

Can I see which LinkedIn jobs offer visa sponsorship?

Yes. Fitrole marks every UK job on LinkedIn with the employer's sponsor licence and what the posting says about sponsorship, right on the job card. It's a free Chrome extension.
